I don’t believe in legends. These legends, heroes and idols have strangled music into a whithering corpse of bloated rock stars and parent approved rock n roll.

But I’m not telling you what to like… I’m just saying these lists happen a little too often and get a little too much press for my taste.

fwiw, It’s not some single RS staffer making an arbitrary list. The list is comprised of – may be a hundred voters – from writers to artists.. RS sent out hundreds of ballots to anyone they could think of and tallied what they received.. Lists will be lists and always subject to ridicule, but interesting none the less when considering several legends voted and wrote up short bits on their favorite singers..

Are people still read Rolling Stone!? I’m not being trying to be an asshole: I’m honestly surprised. Those lists are always so gimmicky and filled with major label crap fests that they aren’t really worth the gloss their printed on.

Joe Blow: I can’t believe this crap! This time the Rolling Stones are the best rock band ever and the Beatles are second!!!

Me: Since when does personal opinion need to be rated and categorized!? Can’t we just think for ourselves and live without some bloated corporate rag crapping out the most abject slag ever written!!??
