Miley Cyrus is totally a lesbian!
February 22nd, 2009 by Lorna Bracewell in Lorna Bracewell, News
I’m not usually one to expend a lot of time and energy speculating about someone’s sexual orientation, but Miley Cyrus’s red carpet interview during ABC’s pre-Oscar coverage tonight had my gaydar sounding too loud to ignore.
First of all, she looked like a volleyball player in an evening gown. Second of all, and this is the most compelling evidence, when asked which celebrity she was most excited to see tonight, she gushed on and on about how Angelina Jolie is her favorite person ever.
Total lesbo! Am I wrong? Somebody make me a liar. Here’s the clip of the interview snippet I caught:

This is funny considering what we just talked about.
Maybe Angelina is a lezzie litmus test?

What the heck is this. First of all, who do you think you are pointing fingers at people? Obviously you as a person aren’t comfortable with your own sexuality to be pointing fingers at other people as being lesbians or gays. I’m not a fan of miley cyrus myself, but I’m not going around calling her a “lezbo” this is totally demeaning and very unprofessional. You sicken me. Maybe take a reality check and look at your own sexuality before questioning anyone elses.

I think your mind has a bit too much time to imagine up things.
Lezbo. lol. yeh right.

You wish, bull dyke. Get with the program and put some goddam lipstick on.
February 22nd, 2009 at 10:37 pm
For the record, I’m a lesbian that used to gush on and on about how wonderful Angelina is before I was out. I don’t mean to insult Miley. I just saw a bit of myself in her at that moment.

You just proved what most people say & think about gays & that is that they think everyone is gay. Miley is as straight as they come. Go find a lesbian your own age & leave the 16 year old alone.

Wow. This post is going to be the traffic generator for the week! I wish I thought of this one. Well done Lorna and don’t let the trolls bring you down.

I love how the haters are jumping on this. The funny thing is that I thought the same thing (about her being gay), as I just had a conversation this morning about Angelina being the litmus test for lesbianism. Even if a girl isn’t gay and has never been part of a gay act, I hear a lot of, “I’d totally sleep with her though.” out of supposedly straight girls.
This is going to be an awesome chain of comment carnage.

Lorna, you nailed this one, I have to agree, completely. Weird posts here, this is no finger-pointing or hating or insulting or whatever…things are what they are. The post is interesting…responses are even more so.
PS Lorna, you’re pretty cute; don’t do too much makeup, it tastes funny.
PPS Pointing out that someone pretty much seems gay/lesb/whatever isn’t an insult, get over it. Welcome to the new millenium, eight years too late…go cut brush, curious george.

You and the rest of the Gay “Abomination” Freaks!
Need to “Leave Miley Alone!”
Same goes for those Damn “Money Hungry” Slant Eyed Asian Bastards. (Bet they dont sue me. As, I have no Money…)
You are aware of the fact. That she has a “Horse Hung” Underwear Model Boyfriend? Maybe your just “Jelous”. Because your “Girlfriend” is’nt!!!

Vanessa Hudgens also said she was excited to see Angelina… Sooo… is she a lezbo too?
I don´t think so!

Me thinks you hit the jackpot Lorna!
I also detected something … It could’ve been the nachos I was eating at the time.

I find it a double standard that it’s completely accepted for people to speculate who one “likes” throughout the course of their life, but it’s not okay if it’s in regards to a non-hetero sexuality.
Parents and grandparents and fellow classmates and churchgoers all feel free to let loose lines like:
“Awww. You can just tell that Jim lights up when Susan walks in the room!”
“She’s always the first to the phone when he calls!”
“Aren’t they so cute talking outside the concert after it was over!”
“The way he was dancing with her…I think they’re gonna hook up…”
But the minute you “suppose” that someone finds someone of the same-sex attractive, it’s no longer cute, it’s a national moral disaster!
Give me a break, folks. Either lay off your own “relationship radar” and fun, gossipy predictions or back off criticizing someone when their radar goes off.
And just as an aside: I once was conversing with a friend and spontaneously thought: “I hope it’s not hard for him when he comes out”. There were no so-called “signs” that he was gay, but in two years, he came out. One explanation as to how I knew: since being gay is just an expression of humanity, another human who doesn’t stigmatize human expression might actually be able to pick up on things naturally.

“Lesbian” is not an insult. It’s just one kind of sexual orientation on a big spectrum.

Assuming you’re the same Keith whose comments I always appreciate, once again you have proved to be a bastion of perspective in a sea of ridiculousness. Thanks for reading and sharing.

Saraah, you are the first person to ever file me under the category “bull dyke.” I know you meant it as an insult, but in the lesbian community it is nothing of the sort. I’m happily partnered now, but I wish more women in the past had shared your perspective. It would have broadened my dating pool.

a few weeks back, you were musing about the differences between bloggers and journalists. I think this post really nails it. Bloggers can post something entitled “Miley Cyrus is totally a lesbian!” Journalists can’t. Or shouldn’t, anyway, unless the article can back up (with actual facts) the assertion made in the headline.
Rejoice, Lorna, in your freedom to blog with impunity.

Another blog were childish stupidity reigns supreme.

Totally agree with -You go girl-.
And if she were a lesbian (which I think she isn´t), she has the right to come out by herself.

Folks, a reminder, if you want your comments to stay on the site, you have to avoid abusive language, otherwise no one will get to read your well-thought-out opinions.

she seems pretty straight to me but i WISH she was a lesbian because she is like the one girl i would for sureee go gay for.
February 23rd, 2009 at 7:02 pm
Dee, You may want to check your spelling and grammar prior to slinging insults in a written forum.

If Angelina Jolie is the lesbian litmus test, I guess I’m a lesbian! Totally!
Or perhaps you need a two part test. But not on my account. : – )
February 23rd, 2009 at 8:29 pm
I would turn lesbian for miley in a minute.
I wish she was a lesbian
February 24th, 2009 at 12:09 am
if i were a girl im pretty sure i would still want to do Angelina
March 25th, 2009 at 1:58 pm
Leave her alone she is not a ‘lezbo’!!! She has been through enough already she is just a human like any one else!!!
April 12th, 2009 at 5:37 am
I’m not sorry for saying this, but Lorna – you have way too much time on your hands to make rumors such as these. *tut, tut, tut*
I have to say, as an actual lesbian, it’s Miley’s most personal life, so unless you have a crush on her or A.Jolie, you should but out of it.
I don’t know if Miley is gay, but I don’t really care. A.Jolie could be Miley’s role model or crush – but that’s not for us to know.
And with both types of comments about Miley being gay or you being an idiot, this is perfect. The Day of Silence is next week, and this whole thing is going to be enlarged, printed and posted in the LGBTI display case for the Week of Silence.

Yeah i agree. LEAVE HER ALONE!!! She is not lesbian..i mean rely…
