He knows his audience is full of hippies, none of which would maybe self-respectingly refer to themselves as hippies, but who would? And that's the joke about "Berkeley" to Midwesterners. Even I made a joke about "bunk acid" going around, which someone responded to me on Twitter by saying "didn't they only say that in the 60's?" -- HEH!@ GET IT?!?!? If you only read about the account I'm sure that's how it would come off, but it really was just Jeff and his son having some fun.
