Just in case you were wondering: Elijah Dukes is an asshole

Cute little story from The St. Pete Times today about Rays rookie and Tampa native Elijah Dukes. Appartenly — if restraining orders are any measuring stick — Dukes and his wife are having some trouble. The Times is a little iffy with its attribution — a lot of “she says” in the piece — but they seem pretty confident that Dukes left the following message on his wife’s voice mail.
“Hey, dawg. It’s on, dawg. You dead, dawg. I ain’t even bulls——-. Your kids too, dawg. It don’t even matter to me who is in the car with you. N—–, all I know is, n—–, when I see your m—–f——- a– riding, dawg, it’s on. As a matter of fact, I’m coming to your m—–f—— house.”
But that may not even be the worst of it. According to the story, Dukes also “barged into” his wife’s middle school classroom in Ruskin in late April. I live with a middle school teacher — you don’t do any kind of “barging” at school.
Then again, according to the story Dukes also sent her a picture of a gun. I guess that’s probably worse.
