Sighting from the Unpaid Intern: Gays on Fire
June 25th, 2007 by christin_webtern in See & Do
Sunday night’s Pride Fest Party at Esca lasted into the night and the peeps that stayed around surely got a show. Daytime drag, fabulous music and martinis on the wrap-around balcony made a delightful late afternoon, but the black-clad fire-swinging dancers stole everyone’s attention when nighttime hit.

The party kicked off at four p.m. with mingling enthusiasts crowded along the balcony. Loud yips and fabulous music from the live DJ could be heard from down on the street. Some chose to dress up for the occasion, some chose drag, and others … well, chose togas. But everyone there was having fun and groovin’.
And nighttime was indeed the right time. As the hours wore on, many party-goers drank beyond their non-established limit. I had a hott lesbian
cozied up next to me on the downstairs sofa when two figures swinging fire started dancing out next to the fountain. They had cropped hair, wore black skin-tight attire and fish net stockings, and whipped and swung their short ropes while dancing around the spurting fountains. These two, of course, stole everyone’s attention.
