Best of the Suncoast Readers Poll Officially Open for Business
July 18th, 2007 by max linsky in Best of the Suncoast
The name’s Suncoast, Best of the Suncoast. Once again, Creative Loafing is dishing up awards for the Best Everything — Best ’Hood, Best Bar, Best Pizza, Best A-hole. And this year, in honor of this blessed year 2007, we’re doing it with a little help from one James Bond. That’s right: 007 in ’007.
But James isn’t enough — we need your help, too. Click here to vote in the 2007 Readers Poll — and actually fill it out; ballots with votes in less than 20 categories will be summarily ridiculed and thrown toward the trash like Oddjob’s hat. Oh — and national chains are a big Dr. No-No. We’re looking for the Best of the Suncoast, not the Best of America. Keep your votes local, folks.
Feel particularly strong about a certain restaurant? Think a local politician deserves a little extra credit — or a swift kick out of City Hall? Feel free to write a paragraph explaining your vote in any one category in the comments below, or e-mail your thoughts to max@creativeloafing.com. Persuade us and your paragraph may just end up in our Best of the Suncoast issue, which hits stands Oct. 24.
Shake it up. But whatever you do, don’t stir.

Your “Best Of” list needs to have an important category added: Best Local Columnist (as distinguished from best “reporter”). And my vote in that category unequivocally is Reality Chick/MC Coolidge in the Pelican Press. Thank you.

I agree with mr. feagan, I think MC Coolidge/Reality Chick should be in a category all her own. and, she’s cute, too.

I couldn’t miss the chance to emphasize my vote for Normen Schindowski for the BEST massage therapist EVER.
I met him at Whole Foods and got a quick 5 minute massage. After that I have gotten three massages from him with almost immediate results for my shoulder pain. Normen is exceptional…his technique is more like Rolfing or Neuromuscular than just Swedish. My sister has a spa up in northern California and she was super impressed with him for the work he did on her “frozen” shoulder. She said he is “way above a massage therapist” and she employs several at Bechtel Creek Inn in Willits, CA.
Kudos to Normen!

What about a category for the best healthy lifestyle advocate? I would nominate Jenna Norwood, her film SUPERCHARGE ME! and the healthy eating podcasts on her website: http://www.superchargeme.com I was made aware of the movie at the Sarasota Film Festival, checked out the website and was very pleased with the content. It provides truly unique resources not found elsewhere on the Web. It’s entertaining, dynamic and continually evolving. I find it extremely beneficial!
