That’s One Way to Celebrate 9/11

According to a White House spokesperson, Gen. David Petraeus — the man charged with the unenviable task of saving the Iraq war — will deliver his much anticipated report on the sixth anniversary of September 11. In the words of Dana Carvey and Dan Savage at The Stranger, it can’t be a coincidence:

The timing of Petraeus’ testimony has nothing whatsoever to do with the anniversary of the attacks, says a Bush spokesman. Not a thing. The Bush administration would never, ever, ever use the attacks of 9/11 to score cheap political points. Never. Ever.
