It’s that time of [the academic] year again, when area higher ed schools showcase their finest. It’s also your cue to support your arts community and check out the many talented up-and-comers here.
Manatee Community College has already debuted its Annual Juried Art Student Exhibition, which runs through April 25 at the Bradenton campus’ Fine Art Gallery. And now mack b’s throwing its capital-letter-resistant hat into the ring. The gallery kicks things off with an opening reception Thursday evening, April 10, from 6-9 p.m., hosting New College of Florida’s Senior Art Exhibition. Among the selections, work from students’ final year of studies, including sculpture, painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, installation, video, kinetics, robotics and performance art.
C’mon, people. Printmaking and robotics? The show’s a no-brainer. Be there.
The exhibit runs through April 12, when mack b shifts its attention to the labors of Ringling College of Art and Design students.
Really, CL believes that children are our future. They’ve been taught well. Now let them lead the way. Represent.
