Today in pop culture

Of all the states, this makes sense, no? Cali’s the first to go trans-fat free.
Really? Really. Really? You guys make us wanna punch babies. Your babies.
Well, this is certainly one way to burn a bridge.
Whoa. That is all. Just. Whoa.
Requiem for a remake: Darren Aronofsky to remake RoboCop.
Shia done LaBeouf-ed, big time, with this latest blunder.
Tell us why, ain’t nothing but a mistake: Didn’t they try this a couple of years ago? And didn’t they bomb?
More casting news: DiCaprio to enter The Twilight Zone. Will there be a Growing Pains episode?
Nomi knows best. Or at least better than Brooke Hogan.
WWWD? Check out the new Bush here.
Coming soon to a cemetery near you: “Statement Coffins.”
Body/face image problems? Modern technology to the rescue…
Waaaaiit: It’s possible to “de-tag” yourself on Facebook?
Weddings, too, get downsized. And this is a bad thing, how?
And, because we just can’t get enough…

Random thoughts: James Cromwell makes the W. trailer for me. Tell me he doesn’t have some of the best lines in “Space Cowboys.”
Bryan Singer. Ang Lee. Christopher Nolan. Now another top-shelf director in Darren Aronofsky directing a comic-book movie. Can Sam Mendes be far behind?
The Bale clip is brilliant. But have you noticed, Amanda, that in interviews regarding The Dark Knight, Bale keeps his American accent?

I have… I believe Bale does that in all of his movies, according to the accent used - I recall him saying something to the effect of doing so, so as not to jar audiences.
That, and because he’s the motherflippin’ MAN. (Okay, I admit my Baleheadness took over there. I don’t think he was the best part of the film - obviously. But have you seen the Machinist? Like whoa.)

Haven’t seen The Machinist yet. I remember reading about it when it first came out, and I guess I was afraid to see what he did to his body for the role.
Yes, Bale is indeed the man, from the first time I saw him in Empire of the Sun. Didn’t see Newsies, natch.
