Global warming rally outside Buchanan’s office

August 28th, 2008 by Justin Richards in Environment, News, Photo Of The Day, Politics

Vern Buchanan wasn’t in his downtown Sarasota office today, but Greenpeace activists symbolically picketed outside his office, directing their attention toward passing drivers.

Afterward, they left the republican congressman a banner made with 369 postcards from Sarasota County constituents demanding Buchanan’s support for clean energy. The previous day, they had presented a similar banner to his Bradenton office, with 369 messages from Manatee County residents.

Greenpeace global warming organizer Joe Smyth, pictured below with his hands clasped as he addresses the activists, said he’s collected thousands of similar postcards. He displays them in increments of 369 because that’s the number that decided Buchanan’s victory over democrat Christine Jennings in the 2006 election.

Don’t be fooled by this hype, for the last 10 years, the earth has actually cooled according to the global warming folks own data.

The government organizations pushing the global warming message were formed as much as 20 years ago with the purpose of identifying and mitigating man made climate change. This was before we had identified man made climate change! At the time , if they couldn’t find global warming and solutions they would be out of work – Think about it!

Do you have a source, other than an ideological blog, on the earth having cooled over the last decade?

Didn’t we have insight into man-made climate change 30 years ago, before the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change was established?

Why would the executive branch have redacted and softened reports from its own agency, then, if global warming was a government conspiracy?

  3. Jeff Id Says:

Yup, I have many sources, giss, HadCrut, Rss and others.

See the plots at this link

All he does it plot the data and look at trends. Take a careful look it will take some time. He doesn’t push any ideology either.

The executive branch knows how unreliable the “scientific” sources have become. The IPCC is corrupt from its inception. At the time of its formation there were a couple of scientists pushing global warming, but there was no supporting evidence. Check out this link here

And I just found a great list of like minded scientists at this link

Global warming is real and it is changing our way of life. We need congress to act so that our nation can use energy more efficiently, invest in renewable energy, and put a cap on global warming pollution. If you need another source go to http://www.ipcc.ch

I see my rebut has vanished. Wat’s up.

Is there really anything wrong with wanting to make the world a little bit of a better place? Lowering YOUR power bills, saving YOU money on fuel…are these really negative things? I’m convinced that global warming exists, but even if it didn’t, is it so horrible to want a better world?

  7. jeff id Says:

    Nicole is missing the point.

If alternative energy lowered power bills it would already be done. The cost difference isn’t small either. Solar energy is equal to about $12/gallon in gas. Wind energy starts and stops which really makes it very tough until we make a good storage system.

Justin Richards I found this site just for you. The cooling temperatures of the earth for over a decade are well documented and the global wamrming guys fully admit it. Here is the leader of them all discussing it.

AGW is not science, it is a government structure which cannot exist if man made global warming is false.

The science is horribly corrupt and cannot be trusted.

Global warming!! What about acid rain? Did you forget about that hoax from the 70’s. If I recall, we were all going to die about 3 minutes after the paint on our cars was etched down to the metal.

Polar bears, ice shelfs falling…snore. All a great hoax created by fat Al Gore, the biggest global warming hypocrite of them all.

  9. Justin Richards Says:

The wording in this article is “hints that temperature might not be rising.”

  10. jeff id Says:

Justin, 100% of the temperature records by the government surface and satellite agencies (i.e giss, hadcrtut, rss …etc) are “hinting” that temperatures have dropped! :)
