— A Lakewood Ranch Chabad honors victims of the terrorist attacks in Mumbai.

— The Sarasota County School Board needs to cut its 2009-2010 budget by $40 million. The solution? Lay off teachers, cut wages and freeze salaries. Nice.

— City commissioners passed an ordinance last night to put the elected mayor question on a March 10 ballot. The proposal gets a second reading later this week, but if it is included on the ballot, it could shift decision-making power in the city forever.

— Pot Luck visits Mattison’s Forty One for brunch and comes away satsified.

— And for a laugh, check out Theodore’s World for an, ahem, interesting take on Obama’s latest “gift“ to his wife. Turns out Wild Thing is not so impressed by that “illegal , Constitution hating marxist POS” [sic] and even compares 44 to Robert Mugabe and Idi Amin. Ah, racism.
