2009 Drinking Guide: The Outsiders
Two years ago, for the very first Creative Loafing Drinking Guide, the intrepid CL staff scouted all the finest drunk-friendly neighborhoods in greater Sarasota: We partied up and down Gulf Gate, explored Siesta Key and toured the Main Street scene. This summer, we’re spreading our wings, and venturing to our city’s remote, under-appreciated and, let’s be honest, questionable watering holes, on a quest to find a whole new world of alcoholic consumption.
We’ll be visiting every bar that piques our interest, and we’ll keep you updated on where we’re heading via our Facebook, Twitter and MySpace pages. Come on out and join us! For each destination, we’ll post a photo of the venue, name the spot’s signature drink and let you know which bartender is the most friendliest. Bookmark this page, tinyurl.com/CLDrinkingGuide, and keep comin’ back to keep up with where we’ve been.
On July 1, just in time for Fourth of July weekend, we’ll publish the results of our efforts, along with a list of the old stand-by bars you should have already visited before attempting to replicate our heroic feats.
Cheers!
