2009 Summer Guide: The Music Issue — We present the 21 best bands on the Suncoast
As the temperature goes up, we’re turning the volume up, for Creative Loafing’s annual Summer Guide.
This year, our mission is simple: We’re going to find the 20 21 best original bands on the Suncoast, and let you know all about ’em. (Update: Due to the general awesomeness of the local scene, we have decided to bring you 21 artists instead of 20. Be advised: This makes the issue extra-sweet.) We’ll also be giving you a chance to hear these groups. We’ll be posting exclusive mp3s with each profile right here on The 941, and when the actual issue drops, you’ll be able to download all 20 tracks compiled into one righteous mixtape. These will be your summer jams.
We’re also including a comprehensive guide to all the finest live music venues on the Suncoast, and a rundown on all the big festivals coming to Florida this summer.
Boomark this page, and keep coming back between now and May 13 to get all the latest updates on the issue.
Rock on.
