Bad News: Nancy’s BBQ loses its new home
January 8th, 2009 by Brian Ries in Food and DrinkThe much-anticipated launch of Nancy Krohngold’s permanent spot for Nancy’s BBQ in the Rosemary district has stalled. Krohngold had planned to move into the old Kay’s BBQ storefront, which had been purchased by Wes Roberts – owner of SRQ magazine – in 2005 as part of a $1.25 million package deal. Apparently, due to difficulties Roberts is having with the property, that’s no longer an option.
“In the spirit of ‘When one door closes …’, I’ve wasted no time in pursuing other spaces in the vicinity, and am in promising talks toward getting open someplace nearby,” Krohngold told me. She got a little taste of a permanent location, and the Rosemary regulars got a taste of her pork at last month’s Rosemary Rising festival. I think everyone would like her to get settled. Soon.
