— The city of Sarasota joins “the ranks of the most boater-unfriendly cities in the nation” with its new anti-mooring law, which doesn’t allow any boater to anchor in Sarasota Bay for longer than 72 hours.

— And… Red County is ambivalent about it.

— Newtown businessman Jetson Grimes spearheads an effort to expand a zone in the neighborhood promoting the growth of local businesses.

— The first African-American to serve as the chair of the Manatee Board of County Commissioners talks to the Bradenton Herald.

— Downtown Bradenton tries to get the revenue flowing a bit more with some new outreach events.
