Because I am a faithful reader of the Planet, have been majorly into No Doubt & Miss Gwen since the late ’90s, would love to see them live but can’t rationalize spending $80 for a decent seat right now. Welcome to the frickin’ *New Economy* :-O

  2. J. Goodrich Says:

Because I would try and sell them to pay for my ticket to the FUN and Manchester Orchestra show the same night… And spread the love of good music across the bay area… world peace.

Simply because I typed the word please? Appreciation and gratitude should be amplified during rough times like these. Hope you do more of these contests….

    Thanks!

I don’t want to win these for me. I actually live in New Jersey. I want to win them for my mother who lives near Tampa. NoDoubt is one of her top two favorite bands! All she has spoken of since finding out they were coming to Tampa was how badly she would like to go see them….
with finances the way they are, purchasing the tickets is a frivalty that she can’t account for… so to be able to win these tickets would be the absolute best thing that has happened to her in a very very very long time….
please help me send her there!!
besides, what is more enlightening that a ( 50-something ) year old dancing around and singing??

There is NO DOUBT that I CAN’T SPEAK enough how this BRAND NEW DAY will see GREENER PASTURES and DIFFERENT PEOPLE who belong in the DOGHOUSE. I want a SIMPLER KIND OF LIFE — so HEY BABY, DON’T LIE ME DOWN or be a DETECTIVE. I’M JUST A GIRL who wants you to OPEN THE GATE, get rid of PAULINA, your EX GRLFRIEND who can SQUEAL, like SIXTEEN SNAKES SIX FEET UNDER. Don’t put me in a WAITING ROOM, YOU CAN DO IT, START THE FIRE, it’s not TOO LATE for me to be your ROCK STEADY. I know I SOMETIMES have a STARING PROBLEM, but I’m SINKING in this TRAGIC KINGDOM – TRAPPED IN A BOX with SPIDERWEBS. Will someone MARRY ME or MOVE ON? This leaves me STRICKEN in my PLATINUM BLONDE LIFE. Don’t be SAD FOR ME. I know it is IN MY HEAD, but hey – IT’S MY LIFE! So give me a LITTLE SOMETHING REFRESHING…like the tickets to the show!!!!!!!!

Oh snap: Veronica just raised the bar, everyone! We’re announcing winners on Friday; obviously, you’d better bring it.

  8. Kelly Says:

Me and my nursing school/ work buddy deserve some fun ‘ cause we have been busting our butts at the hospital learning how to save lives and taking care of sick people :) taking care of stroke patients and peeps w brain tumors is rewarding but we need play time!!!

When I heard No Doubt was coming to Tampa I nearly pissed myself!(sorry maybe too much info) I was so happy they were back together and was praying they would come and they did! I have never even been to a concert before and what better first concert experience than No Doubt.I did not have any money at first, I came into some money yesterday(how last minute)but ended up giving it to my mom for bills because I know that is far more important but I really was heartbroken, I nearly cried myself to sleep. I know the whole thing sounds like one big sob story and that Im trying to use pity but its true! I’m a broke student and of couurse the economy is screwing everyone over but this is my last desperate attempt to see them.

Because I read the paper as soon as it gets to the store I work at, because I am your friend on facebook, because I have been reading this paper since 2003 when I moved to Tampa, and continued reading it when I moved back to Venice. Because No Doubt was cool before I was old enough for my parents to allow me to go to concerts, so this is the first opportunity I will have to go see them live. And because my boyfriend (who is a HUGE No Doubt fan) and I are celebrating our 3rd anniversary together on tuesday, so this would be the best anniversary gift EVER!

  11. Wess Says:

I would love to win tickets to No Doubt in Tampa because I was unable to buy them for my brother when they were first offered! Not known for his great musical taste, my brother was a big fan of Destiny’s Child until he discovered “Spiderwebs,” and then all bets were off! Tragic Kingdom and Rock Steady basically became the soundrack of our high school years, and while I (with my love of pop) have folowed Gwen into her new career, my brother has remained a NDpurist. He was in Haiti on a mission trip when tickets went on sale, and I didn’t hear about the concert until recently. I hope that the concert will be a great final outing for us before he moves to Wisconsin in late June! Thanks!

  12. Nicole Valentino Says:

My very first CD was No Doubt’s Tragic Kingdom. Since then I’ve gone through 3 CDs, literally wore them out! I don’t know if that qualifies as a good reason to win the tickets or not, but its my reason. Although I do not read CL every week (I live in North Port) I do read online and keep up with updates on facebook. I also listen to Cooper’s show online. I’d love to win those tickets.

(Holla to Veronica who did a kick-ass job with incorporating all those song titles! Although you missed my favorite “Excuse Me, Mister”, which would’ve made a perfect opening.)

    There might be bigger fans,
    certainly better writers,
but there’s no doubt I need the tix
for my nieces high school graduation..

Thanks for the great reporting and the ticket opportunity!

  14. Krystal Says:

I’m not going to tell you why I didn’t buy tickets or throw out some sob story to try to win you over for these seats. What I will say is that No Doubt has been a part of my life since the 5th grade. The plaid pants, the combat boots, and the wife beater became my junior high wardrobe. If I had been allowed to dye my hair platinum blonde, I probably would have. I had no idea what ska music was, but I acted like I had listened to it my entire life (which at this point was barely over a decade). Forget the Spice Girls. Gwen taught me what “girl power” really was. Come on Creative Loafing, let me break out the plaid pants and rock it out 1995 style at the Ford Amp.
