Linkage: News from around the Suncoast in five clicks or less

This is how I spent my Saturday morning: strolling around the decrepit campus of the soon-to-be-demolished Riverview High School.

— Big news on Longboat Key: “Bank of America has filed a foreclosure suit against Colony Beach & Tennis Resort Chairman and owner Dr. Murray ‘Murf’ Klauber and seven of his resort corporations, alleging they have defaulted on three loans whose outstanding amounts total $8.02 million.”

— Once upon a time, the proposed CityPointe development was to be a 342-unit condo building with attractive pricing for young professionals. Now, the developer is trying to weasel out of the deal: Now they want to turn the project into a home for “a host of other service uses not allowed for the project, such as dormitories, nursing homes, group homes or sororities.”

— You’ve been beating down the doors of the Sarasota Herald-Tribune headquarters demanding it, and it has finally arrived… Everything Golf, the H-T’s new golf blog: “Each week, head blogger Bart Pfankuch will update the site with thoughts, reflections and updates on the local golf scene.” Ooh… reflections!
