June 12th, 2009 by The Scenestress in Arts, Food and Drink, News, Sarasota-Manatee
Happy weekend, ladies and gents. Looking for something to do? Well you only have to look after the jump to find my picks for the hot and happening around the SRQ Friday and Saturday.
FRIDAY, June 12
What: “Pets in the City 2“
Where: Horsefeathers, 6:00-10:00 p.m.
Why: An event benefiting the Gimme Shelter Pet Adoption Show (who doesn’t wanna help the poor abandoned adorable baby aminals?), sponsored by my friends and yours, Szambalan. Show up for “unlimited Tokyo-tinis,” sumo wrestling, palm reading, and more. Sounds like fun to me.
How much: $25 at the door

What: “Ride the Shark“
Where: Gilligans, 8:00 p.m.-2:00 a.m.
Why: Mechanical shark rides, need I say more? Okay…live music till 10 p.m., then Hip/Hop and Techno with DJ eKKo till 2:00. If you’re on the key, I’d say this is def the spot to hit up.
How much: No cover and $1.50 drafts all night.

SATURDAY, June 13
