Amidst a flurry of last-second entries in our ticket giveaway contest for this Saturday’s big Kid Rock/Lynyrd Skynyrd show at Tampa’s Ford Amphitheatre, we have decided upon a winner! Drumroll, please…

The winner is… Susan Wallach! Why? Well, a) she followed the contest rules and both posted a comment in the comments section and emailed us her contact information, b) she lost out on the chance to see No Doubt a few weeks back and c) she told quite a touching story:

June 25th is my birthday. Last year I had the worst birthday ever cuz my mom’s doc informed me on that day that we’d need to move her to hospice very soon because she was on her way out. Def put a dark cloud over my b-day evening, even though friends tried to take my mind off reality for a few hours.
Mom passed on 6/27/08.

Would be nice to receive some good news on my b-day this year, like that I’d won tix to a great show on the 27th! If this occurs, I’d get to experience a kick-ass fun evening this year to make up for the pain and sadness I had to deal with same time, last year.
