Over two Jäger shots, Coleman’s owner Mike told me exactly why his bar is packed every night of the week with neighborhood drinkers, celebrating softball teams and off-duty restaurant and bar staffers: “We’re fucking great people.” And the patrons are just as awesome: “[the] best regulars that I’ve ever seen in my life.” Coleman’s has earned its rep in less than three years, after Mike and others renovated a total dive named the Oasis. Nowadays, framed Successories-style photos of major-league ballparks line the walls, and a popcorn machine provides gratis sustenance to those craving something salty to go with their brews. In one corner, a cage provides a classy platform for the ladies to dance up on when things pop off and get real crazy, like on the pub’s patented FUBAR Fridays. Perhaps one reason why regulars keep packing the place?

If you like drunks and fights, Coleman’s is the place for you. Staff drinks (a lot) while on duty and things get nasty in there quick. I wouldn’t go in after dark or when drunkin’ shannon is behind the bar.

What up joey b., glad to see u have great times @ coleman’s… Try not acting like someone always pisses in ur cornflakes every once in a while & maybe people will actualy like u… I don’t know if u were deprived at childhood of ur manhood..(Kinda seems like it to me)especialy since u can’t even use ur real name, but hey it doesn’t matter, we know…. Dunno what this Joey dude is talking about. Coleman’s is a great neighborhood watering hole and never saw Shannon drunk or fights break out there as he asserts. Now I do know that peeps have been asked to leave for bad behavior or throwing off rude, negative attitude toward other patrons and/or staff. Perhaps this is the true seed of Joey’s discontent…
