World of Beer to open off of University Parkway

World of Beer is a bar and retail store up in Tampa, with a profoundly massive selection of beer and a cozy lounge to down a few hard-to-find brews and watch a game. Come August, if all goes well, Sarasota will have our very own outpost of the place.
Sarasota’s World of Beer is planned for one of those little strip malls out University Parkway, near the interstate, and is slated to open in late August or early September. If it sticks to formula, it will likely have the best selection of retail beer in a town that has been parched for it. Oddly enough, the new store will be mere steps from Total Wine, which also brought us a much bigger array of brews than we’ve seen before. And with Cock & Bull just a couple of miles down Cattlemen, Sarasota is developing a cozy little beer corridor.
