— Sarasota and Manatee school administrators stake out their ground in the battle against the latest teen menace: “sexting.”

— North Port woman gets hired, resigns three weeks later, after her supervisor repeatedly calls her fat.

— The Observer group of newspapers takes home trophies in 17 categories at a Florida Press Association ceremony, including a first-place prize in (astoundingly enough) editorial page writing.

— Red County Editor Richard Swier on why Obama’s foreign policy is flawed, according to… yep, that’s right… Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. The piece even compares an ancient race of Transformers to ”radical environmentalists.” You know the type — with their silly “addiction to solar energy” and all. What’s next? An essay on how Con Air is an extended metaphor for why we shouldn’t close Guantánamo? Or how The Rock is proof that illegal indefinite detention has its benefits sometimes? Or how Obama is just like that big asteroid in Armageddon and is about to destroy earth?
