Dudes over at The Hub decided that this ol’ town needed a little spicing up, so they decided to throw a little party. Make that numerous parties spanning nearly a week and featuring over 30 DJs from all over the world. It was nice to have Sarasota resemble some kind of hot spot destination for a few days in July. It was even nicer to see these DJs actually offering to come back after the festival was over. They pulled it off well though, from the live painting outside Horsefeathers, to the beach party at Lido Beach Resort to the rooftop shindig at Kanaya; we all felt like VIP all-stars that weekend. All up until the sound got shut down at the final sandbar party on Sunday. Oh yeah, we’re still in Sarasota, aren’t we? vinylfestival.com
