— Obama is coming! Obama is coming! The crowds have been gathering at the Sarasota airport since yesterday. Too bad most think the president’s visit won’t make much of an impact on Florida’s renewable energy policy: “Experts say prospects do not look good for clean energy legislation in Florida this year. And FPL says no new solar plants will be built until state leaders approve stronger clean energy incentives.” Guh-reat!
— “The percentage of flu-like cases in Sarasota County’s hospital emergency rooms fell for the fourth straight week, and fifth of the last six weeks, according to a county Health Department report.”
— And now there’s this: Despite our publicly professed desire to never get an update about Ed Smith Stadium again, some group has gone and done it, accusing the City Commission of hiding a report showing significant environmental damage beneath the fields.
