Chipotle’s expert burrito artists worked double-time this afternoon at the launch of the 900-plus-strong chain’s new University Parkway location. The restaurant offered patrons a free lunch between the hours of 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., and clearly word had gotten out. The line snaked around the shiny, industrial-metal interior and out onto the sidewalk, where Chipotle’s Kim Higgins directed traffic. Free carnitas. Mmm…

I know, I know, I know… I’m in the minority on this one, but I don’t see what’s so great about Chipotle. I like the way the food is produced, but it’s still not healthy and it doesn’t taste amazing. It’s not bad, but not worth the hype.

I admit their marketing is brilliant.
