Considered by many to be Alfred Hitchcock’s best British film before he took off for Hollywood, 1935’s The 39 Steps tells the story of an innocent man (Robert Donat) getting involved with a spy ring in Scotland. The Light Factory will present a free screening of the movie at 8:30 p.m. Thursday, July 17, in the TransAmerica Plaza, 401 N. Tryon St. Food and drink will be available for purchase.
