Film: How the Grinch Stole Christmas

The BVT is having a Holiday Film Festival, featuring favorite flicks for only $5. This week’s installment may inspire you dust off your copy of Dr. Seuss’ original story for a read by the fire.

Food: Christmas in Davidson features food vendors for you and your dog; organic treats! Plus: shopping, carriage rides and Christmas cheer.

Music: The 2nd Annual Beards BeCAUSE features Truckstop Preachers, The B-Stevens, and The Belmont Players.

Saturday, Dec. 6

Arts: The 2nd Annual Black Expo
J.C. Smith University/ The Park (formerly Charlotte Merchandise Mart)
Mix and mingle at this breakfast of champions with Rev. Al Sharpton, Nia Long, Lamman Rucker; locals Bob Johnson and Harvey Gantt. Spend the day at The Park shopping and attending seminars, like “Breaking Into The Film Industry.”

Music: Indie-folkie Tyler Ramsey performs at The Evening Muse.

Food: The 9th Annual Santa Bar Crawl features drinking for charity. Ho ho ho!

Sunday, Dec. 7

Snug Harbor
Biram shows that all you need to create a mix of blues, punk and rock is a blazing guitar, an amplifier and some booze. The one-man rock show shares the bill with Trouble Walkers, Biggy Stardust and His Wretched Hive.

Arts: The kids of The Best Christmas Pageant Ever invade ImaginOn.
