It’s here: Swine Flu debuts in Meck County

June 1st, 2009 by Rhiannon Bowman in News

Don’t lose your shit, but Mecklenburg County finally has a case of Swine Flu. Just do the same ol’ stuff you always do to avoid the flu: wash your hands, avoid sick people, take your vitamins and, for God’s sake, stay calm — and definitely stay home if you’re feeling ill.

Most of all, remember this: It’s just the flu. Every year loads of unlucky people die thanks to the flu. And, yes, it is very sad. So, take care of yourself and avoid germy people.

The County is going to make a big announcement about their first confirmed H1N1 case at 10:30 a.m. today.

As of Friday, North Carolina had 21 cases of swine flu.The N.C. Department of Health and Human Services said Friday officials have confirmed new cases in Orange, Buncombe and Onslow counties. The agency said it confirmed four cases on Thursday, three of them in New Hanover County and one in Brunswick County.
