Is Palin just misunderstood?
July 6th, 2009 by Rhiannon Bowman in 24-Hour Blog-o-thon, NewsPalin spokeswoman Meghan Stapleton vouches for the authenticity of the (Facebook) posting in which Palin casts herself as someone who has been misunderstood:
“How sad that Washington and the media will never understand; it’s about country. And though it’s honorable for countless others to leave their positions for a higher calling and without finishing a term, of course we know by now, for some reason a different standard applies for the decisions I make.”
How sad that we misunderstand? What is she talking about?
How about this: How sad that you fail to understand, Sarah Palin.
The citizens of the U.S., most of them at least, are not as dumb as you think. You seem to be under the false impression that if you rattle off enough key words we won’t notice that you’re just jibber jabbering. Sorry to break it to you, governor: We notice.
Listen, Sarah. Go hole up in the Wasilla library. Spend some time reading history, geography and civics books.
When you’re done there, head right over to the town shrink. You’ve got issues. Deal with them in the privacy of a psychiatrist’s office, not on camera. You’re not misunderstood. Your doctor, and perhaps a few meds, will help you realize that.
In fact, we see right through you. You’re a power hungry bitch who isn’t getting her way, so you’re pasting on a fake smile right before dashing off to fulfill your “higher calling.”
We get it. Now, run away damaged star. Lick your wounds and get your head straight. And, for goodness sake, stay the hell away from the media (and off of Facebook and Twitter). We’ll stop covering you as soon as you stop making an ass out of yourself.
Sarah’s greatest (misunderstood) hits:

Someone is suffering from Sarah derrangement syndrome I see. Since when is resigning without a scandal making an ass out of yourself? This insane logic is why people are starting to tune out of the main stream media. Also how is resigning from a powerful position power hungry?
Also notice how the current issue about Sarah leaving office is not really much of a story so Bowman has to bring up some crappy Palin interviews from the past to somehow make this story more interesting.
I am amazed at how far the main stream media will go to destroy a leader that has so little dirt on her that even the tiniest things she has done, even good things are used as a tool to beat her up.
She was beaten up for having kids and it was said on CNN by some that she should really stay home with the children instead of running for high office. People like Bowman would normally blindly support a woman but when you get one that is at the other end of the political spectrum they must be destroyed and never given the benefit of the doubt.

Frank:
Why do people on the right describe any disapproval of your candidate as “suffering from some derrangement syndrome” or as “irrational hate”? Are you trying to insinuate that anyone who disagrees with you must be mentally ill?
If you can’t see why so many people think Governor Palin is unqualified then you will not be convinced by anything her opponents say. The reasons are painfully obvious to anyone who is actually paying attention.
When a parent stands on a stage constantly promoting abstinance only education and shouting about Christian values it is not a petty attack to point out that her pregnant unmarried daughter is standing on the stage beside her.
A candidate who repeatedly calles her opponent a terrorist has no moral high ground from which to whine about people picking on her.

Since when did “Creative Loafing” become part of the mainstream media? It’s an alternative weekly. They offer “shelter from the mainstream.”
Whereyabeen, buddy?

Frank,
Do you know the author? Have you ever corresponded with her? Bet you haven’t.
How can you suggest that you have any idea if she would “normally blindly support a woman.”
You’re off base, Frank. As usual, making up stuff as you go along.
And, as far as Palin not resigning amid scandal. Her resignation IS a scandal.

“Why do people on the right describe any disapproval of your candidate as “suffering from some derrangement syndrome” or as “irrational hate”? ”
The problem is that she is yesterdays news but liberals keep bringing her up even for the slightest reason to get additional satisfaction by kicking her yet again. I know the liberals fear a politician that walks the walk so I understand why they do it but it is lame. Those that are unable to let Palin get on with her life are the ones with a serious problem.
“Are you trying to insinuate that anyone who disagrees with you must be mentally ill?”
Here goes another liberal trying to put words in my mouth trying to change the debate to something they might possibly be able to handle. The answer is no. McCain lost his bid for prez and she was the on the vp slot no less and yet the media continues to hound her for some reason.
“If you can’t see why so many people think Governor Palin is unqualified then you will not be convinced by anything her opponents say. The reasons are painfully obvious to anyone who is actually paying attention.”
I could say the same thing back to you about Obama and have it stick a lot better. There is no need to even debate that Obama has been an utter flop show but then there was no telling people like you he was a loser before the election.
“When a parent stands on a stage constantly promoting abstinance only education and shouting about Christian values it is not a petty attack to point out that her pregnant unmarried daughter is standing on the stage beside her”
Its one thing if Palin did not live up to her own standards. It is completely different if another human being does not live up to a parents standard. This is probably one of the lamest attacks on Palin. Anyone with kids knows better to make such stupid comments. In the end you can only speak to your own actions, not the actions of others.
“A candidate who repeatedly calles her opponent a terrorist has no moral high ground from which to whine about people picking on her.”
I would not expect a Lib to get the facts right but let me correct you. She said Obama was hanging around a known terrorist and the statement was true. She never said Obama himself was a terrorist. Read up on Ayers for your answer.
“Since when did “Creative Loafing” become part of the mainstream media?”
Except for Tara’s section this mag is true blue liberal agenda driven crapola, which equals mainstream media. You can call the CL whatever you want but it does not change what it actually is.
“Do you know the author? Have you ever corresponded with her? Bet you haven’t.”
I have on the record what she has said on many issues so I do know her thoughts and how misguided they are. There is no need to personally know her or correspond with her. Do you know me? You seem to say a lot about me and we have never met hehe.
“How can you suggest that you have any idea if she would “normally blindly support a woman.””
I have seen her track record. You actually used a correct word here. I suggested, which is correct.
“You’re off base, Frank. As usual, making up stuff as you go along.”
I just speak the truth. If my facts or opinions are too much for you to handle you can always go back to watching cartoons.
“And, as far as Palin not resigning amid scandal. Her resignation IS a scandal”
This is my point. The scandal is a non scandal but it makes big time news anyways.
““Lt. Gov. Sean Parnell of Alaska said Sunday that Gov. Sarah Palin’s decision to resign was largely prompted by the personal legal costs of the ethics investigations against her.””
Your first mistake was reading th NYT if you wanted the whole story about something. Palin was found innocent of ethics violations. Why did you bring up trooper gate while you were reading the NYT. It was more interesting non scandal scandal atleast.
Game, Set, Match.
You guys lost but aleast you put up a fight this time.

Frank,
Commenting on an article is not a game, so no one can lose.
As far as knowing what the author’s thoughts are and who she would support in an election — especially since you admit you haven’t met or corresponded with her AT ALL — that’s just proof that you’re delusional.
In response to this, “I just speak the truth. If my facts or opinions are too much for you to handle you can always go back to watching cartoons.”
Your opinions and baseless comments do not equate to facts. As you so frequently suggest, I highly recommend you purchase and utilize a good dictionary.
Seriously, dude. Seek help.

The mere logic you use just shows how desperate and painfully flawed you are.
“In response to this, “I just speak the truth. If my facts or opinions are too much for you to handle you can always go back to watching cartoons.””
When I gave a prediction on who she would support that would fall under the opinion portion you idiot.
Now why not enlighten everyone mr troll on what facts I got wrong.
“Commenting on an article is not a game, so no one can lose.”
With comments like yours it is possible to actually win hehe.
“Seriously, dude. Seek help.”
I think you need to worry about helping yourself before you worry about others.
