Local astronaut’s family frustrated by delays

Yeah. Just go on and fling a bunch of astronauts through the atmosphere and hope for the best. Nevermind the weather, we’re tired of waiting. Tick tock, NASA.
Four times, they’ve gathered at the Banana Creek Viewing Site three miles from Cape Canaveral to witness liftoff of the space shuttle Endeavour, carrying seven astronauts, including Statesville born-and-bred Marshburn.
Four times the launches have been scrubbed, the latest two Saturday and Sunday because of bad weather.
Sunday, Marshburn’s siblings and other relatives said they were frustrated, but mostly for Uncle Tommy.
“We can take care of ourselves down here on planet Earth, where it’s nice and safe,” said brother Robert, a family practice physician in Homer, Ga., near Athens. “We’re just ready to get Tommy up to the International Space Station so he can do his job.”
