Racial extremists in our military?

Neo-Nazi’s are using our military to train their forces. You don’t say. And, Congress isn’t doing anything about it? No. Really?
Meanwhile, if military personnel speak fluent Arabic, serve honorably and come out of the closet — they’re fired. Makes sense, right? Hell no, it doesn’t.
Since they’re obviously in need of direction, we’re going to have to call our representatives in Congress and remind them that it’s not a good idea to train terrorists while ousting the uber qualified.

The Southern Poverty Law Center today urged Congress to investigate growing evidence that racial extremists are infiltrating the U.S. military and take steps to ensure that the armed forces are not inadvertently training future domestic terrorists.
In a letter to committee chairmen with oversight over homeland security and the armed services, the SPLC said it recently found dozens of personal profiles on a neo-Nazi website where individuals listed “military” as their occupation — the latest evidence of extremist infiltration gathered by the SPLC. It also cites FBI and Department of Homeland Security reports supporting the SPLC’s concerns.
“Evidence continues to mount that current Pentagon policies are inadequate to prevent racial extremists from joining and serving in the armed forces,” SPLC founder Morris Dees wrote. He added, “Because the presence of extremists in the armed forces is a serious threat to the safety of the American public, we believe Congressional action is warranted.”
The letter was sent to the chairmen of the House and Senate committees on Homeland Security and Armed Services. The SPLC has raised its concerns with Pentagon officials since publishing a report in 2006, but no apparent action has been taken.

Bowman started out so good and then went off the predictable cliff she always races towards. Training Neo-nazis is a bad thing and should be stopped. The other items actually have valid concerns. They may turn out to be nothing but could have big consequences if we guess wrong.
Having a terrorist make it into the military could be very bad. The gay thing could result in destroying our voluntary military. I admit that it is unfair to bar someone due to thier sexual orientation but just think about it. If you were a gay man and you could enjoy seeing naked men everyday in the shower you would have a huge incentive to join the military. If you were a straight man and you knew there would be gay dudes scoping you out in the shower you would have a huge disincentive to join the military. Gays make up 2 or 3% of the population (guesstimate). If you run the numbers we would destroy our military. I know its unfair but we are dealing with reality here not some science experiment. Communism sounds great on paper but utterly fails in practice due to human nature. The same human nature would turn the vast majority of recuits away from the YMCA military. I could possibly be wrong on this but is it worth the risk of finding out or does the military already know what will happen and thats why they are fighting this so hard? Maybe we could have a teast program somewhere to see?
