The Wack List: Aug. 7

August 7th, 2009 by Carlton Hargro in News, The Wack List

Five people, places and things we really ain’t digging today.

• People who hoped Sonia Sotomayor wouldn’t get confirmed. Hey, dry those tears haters. (Photo courtesy of Newscom)

• John Edwards’ campaign payoff probe.

• Folks who think “Cash for Clunkers” is a bad idea.

• Ann Coulter — well for being Ann Coulter … and — according to PoliticsDaily.com — for getting ready to deliver a speech tonight titled “Taking Down Liberalism With Beauty and Brains.” My question: What beauty and what brains?

• This morning’s deadly hit-and-run in Catawba County.

Its a double shame when liberals treat Soto as some kind of victory. We just put a sexist and racist person on the highest court in the land and liberals are doing the happy dance because she is a liberal. It reminds me of when arabs danced in the streets after 9/11. Partisanship is more important than putting a qualified person on the court.

As for cash for clunkers being a success, what do you expect to happen when the government starts handing out free money. Handing out 1000 dollar bills on the street corner would be even more of a success. The money grab is finally directed at the people but a money grab is a money grab and it will hurt the USA as a whole.

This turned out to be a double shame on liberals but they are too stupid to even know it.

Supporters of Sotomayor are as pathetic as her bigoted detractors.

Again, the corporment (govt + corporate power players)has “gotten over” on the public as another supplicant/puppet for the corporment gets an influential, decision making position while the only thing the public gets is the “joy and pride” of having a racial or gender diverse face at the top.

The Supreme Court keeps getting stacked with jurists from the corporate side of law. As a result, we see decisions that increasingly conflict and/or suppress the rights of individuals and the public interest at large. Where are the nominees for the Court who have resumes heavy in public defender offices, legal aid, immigrants rights, labor rights, human rights, civil rights, etc? These type jurists never make the short (or long) list of nominees. Ideological and work sector diversity is more important than racial/gender diversity as we see millions of examples of minorities and women being screwed over by those who “look like us.”
