Atlanta police want the public’s help to find a man who they say might help them catch a killer.

Nicholas Green was new to Atlanta, a 21-year-old barber originally from Fitzgerald, Ga. His brother picked him up after work on Nov. 15, then the two stopped by a gas station where a surveillance video shows Green speaking to several people.

He never made it to work again. Police are searching for one of the men who spoke to Green in an effort to find out who shot and killed him shortly after.

Green was a passenger in the vehicle his brother was driving when a silver Hyundai Sonata drove up beside them and opened fire, striking Nicholas in the head and injuring his brother, said Lt. Charles Hampton of the Atlanta Police Department’s homicide unit. The murder happened at the intersection of McDaniel and Glen streets in Mechanicsville shortly before 9:30 p.m.

Police put together a video from the gas station as well as footage of the Hyundai. Officers have already talked to two men from the gas station and are seeking the third for information only.

“He’s not a suspect, he’s not a person of interest,” said Hampton.

Anyone with information on the car or the man at the gas station is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 404-577-TIPS. Callers can remain anonymous and are eligible for a reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an indictment. Here’s a copy of the flyer from the case.
