I don’t get it.
I really just…don’t…get it. To be fair, I didn’t “get” Hanson either, and these twits seem to the tight-pants reincarnation of the blonde boys-who-looked-like-girls. Supposedly, some of these are wax statues, but damned if I can tell them apart.
On a side note, my grandfather owned a pair of shoes just like the kid/statue in the tacky blue suit. Do The Jonas Brothers’ shop at Goodwill in Charlotte?
Singer/songwriter Nikki Jean (catch her singing the hook on rapper Lupe Fiasco’s song “Hip Hop Saved My Life”) posts really boring video blogs on a daily basis. Her newest one is about taking baths. Yawn, right? But, damn, she looks good. I’m in love! And she can sing, too.

I used to think YouTube was just a site where I could find stupid videos, but recently I discovered that it’s actually a great place to find old, often-obscure songs.
Honestly. Just visit the site and type in the name of a song — chances are someone posted a video or still image along with the song you’re seeking.
For example, I heard a song by an artist named Sylvia on a 1970s-era episode of Soul Train this weekend. (Yes, I still watch Soul Train!) I liked the song, so I did a search on YouTube and found stuff like this:
Yeah it’s cheesy. Sue me. Anyway, try it out see what you find for yourself.

Anybody remember the Ohio-based alternative band Blessid Union of Souls? They made their start in the music scene with their 1995 debut album Home. Hits like “Let Me Be The One,” “I Believe,” and “All Along,” streamed across the radio stations and listeners buzzed the phone lines requesting those heart-wrenching, catchy vibes. I happened to own Home on cassette, but lost touch with the bands albumography after that. Following their first album was 1997’s self-titled album Blessid Union of Souls, 1999’s Walking Off The Buzz, and after a long break there was a greatest hits album and 2005’s Perception. Blessid Union of Souls is bouncing back slowly, but surely, with plans to release their sixth studio album, Close to the Edge on Sept. 16. They will play The Visulite Theatre on Aug. 18. $15. Today I got word that the New Kids On The Block, (a band that was all the rage when I was in elementary school and they were in their teens) will be reuniting for a tour. It’s odd to think of the now aged boy band back on stage, but they’ll be performing in Charlotte at Time Warner Cable Arena (formerly the Charlotte Bobcat Arena) on Oct. 30.
