U2 tribute to Michael Jackson
July 1st, 2009 by Jeff Hahne in VideosSo, at U2’s concert in Barcelona last night, they paid tribute to Michael Jackson by performing bits of “Man in the Mirror” and “Don’t Stop Til you Get Enough” during their song “Angel of Harlem.”
While many people will praise the rock group for their actions, can I just point out that it sounds like Bono has no clue what the lyrics to “Man in the Mirror” are.
Sounds like he keeps repeating, “I’m looking at the man in the mirror/I’m asking him to make a change.” The actual lyrics are “I’m starting with the man in the mirror/I’m asking him to change his ways. And no message could have been any clearer, If you wanna make the world a better place Take a look at yourself and then make a change.”
I guess it’s the thought that counts.

Bono often changes the lyrics to the songs he sings, wether they be U2’s own or those that belong to others.
And it’s not like he totally missed the mark, he just sang the same sentiment with different words.

Yep, I copied Bono’s bad words because I was paying more attention to the second line.
