Gregory and The Hawk flying by

New York indie/acoustic pop songstress Meredith Godreau aka Gregory and The Hawk will perform at The Milestone tonight with other acts Torn Down Trees and Ultimate Optimist. The show is 18 and up. Tickets are $7. Watch the video “Boats and Birds,” from Gregory and The Hawk below:

Ramones Fest on Saturday

Ramones Fest: A Blitzkrieg Bop, which goes down at Snug Harbor on Nov. 15, 8 p.m. is a celebration of the best punk rock sensations. The event will feature bands: The Belmont Playboys, The Flat Tires, The Defilers, Southside Punx and Trouble Walkers. Tickets at $10. Drummer Mitch Mitchell dead

The last living member of the Jimi Hendrix Experience was found dead on Wed., Nov. 12. Mitch Mitchell, former drummer of the band was 61-years-old and it is thought that he died of natural causes. Read the full story here.

Update on Deftones bassist

If you haven’t heard yet, bassist Chi Cheng of the Deftones is in the hospital after being involved in a car wreck that happened on Mon., Nov. 3. A news update was posted about the accident yesterday on Road Runner Records’ website. In addition, Chino Moreno, front man of the Deftones posted a blog on the band’s myspace page. He said of Chi Cheng, “His condition remains the same - serious, but stable.” Read more here.

Lenka is one to hear

Aussie pop gal Lenka is an artist to be on the look out for. Her debut album, released (Sept. 23, 2008) on Epic Records contains the cute, catchy track “The Show.” Lenka, who now resides in LA, recorded the album with Pierre Marchand (Sarah McLachlan, Rufus Wainwright) and Mike Elizondo (Dr. Dre, Eminem and Fiona Apple). Janet afraid to get too sexy?

Janet “Check Out My Left Nipple” Jackson performed a concert in Michigan last night and cut out a three-song segment of her show that was deemed “too racy.”

During one of the three songs, “Discipline,” Jackson has been tying down a male member of the audience and “molests” him while back-up dancers simulate sex acts. (video after the jump) (more…)
