Pollstar.com has listed Sugar Ray as playing at Amos’ Southend on Aug. 11.
Just went over the Amos’ SouthEnd Web site and saw a banner at the top of the calendar that states:
Amos’ Is Now Non-Smoking
The Evening Muse and Neighborhood Theatre are also non-smoking. Who’s next? Visulite?
Black Label Society with Sevendust and Dope
Amos’ Southend
April 19, 2009
The Deal: Heavy metal band Black Label Society — headed by front man and metal guitarist extraordinaire Zakk Wylde — visit Charlotte for a sold-out performance at Amos’ Southend, along with Sevendust and Dope. (more…)
Purgatory 43: Ragnarok
Amos’ Southend
April 18, 2009
The Deal: After seven years, Purgatory holds its final event.
The Good: I’d heard all the rumors and rumblings about Purgatory over the last two years since I moved to Charlotte, and finally decided it was time to check it out while I still had a chance. As soon as I set foot inside of Amos’, I felt like I was at a more sexually charged, non-Halloween version of CarnEvil, which I went to last fall. A quick glance over at the Amos’ Southend Web site and you can see there’s a few concerts that have been recently added.
Among them, Snoop Doog who will be hitting the Q.C. on May 14. Tickets are $37.50 in advance and $40 on the day of the show.
Something tells me it could get real smoky in there…
Other bands scheduled to come to Amos’ in the near future — New Found Glory (4/16), Zakk Wylde’s Black Label Society w/ Sevendust (4/19), Flyleaf (5/12), TV on the Radio (6/11).

A quick glance over at the Web site for Amos’ Southend shows that TV on the Radio will be heading our way on June 11.
The band’s latest disc, Dear Science, made the top of Best of 2008 lists all over the place and they recently performed on Saturday Night Live.
Here’s a video for “Golden Age” from that album:
Check out the music video (below) for “Wherever I Stand,” a single from Taproot’s 2008 album Our Long Road Home. The hard rock act is set to perform tomorrow night (Thursday, Jan. 8) at Amos’ Southend. Dear Enemy to open. 16 and up. Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 on the day of the show.
Pat Green w/ Wade Bowen
Amos’ Southend
Nov. 15, 2008
The Deal — Texas singer and songwriter Pat Green made another trip up to Charlotte — this time to serenade from the stage of Amos’ SouthEnd.
The Good — In my opinion — all of Pat Green’s songs. That, and the fact one of his many sisters shares a zip code with us, hence the reason you can often find Pat Green on some stage in Charlotte or a surrounding area. (more…)
