The Glands to reunite (probably)

The famed Athens group has been rehearsing for possible performances

Of all the bands to emerge from the Athens, Ga. music scene, few have been so revered within said scene than the Glands (not an official site). The five-piece pop group released two records, 1998’s Double Thriller and 2000’s The Glands (about which I wrote very early in my Crib Notes career), before ostensibly calling it quits in the early part of the aughts.

Save for a jam-packed one-off reunion show at the soon-to-be-closed Tasty World in Athens, the world has heard nearly nothing from the Glands in the years since. But, according to Flagpole’s Gordon Lamb, the band has been rehearsing once again with the intention of performing live. Specifically, when asked about the intention behind the group’s practices, Glands drummer Joe Rowe is reported to have said:

“Well, I imagine we’re rehearsing to play shows. Why else would we be rehearsing?”

This is fantastic news for Glands fans everywhere. But when and where will these shows take place?
