Paul Broun endorses self?

July 11, 2007 at 4:59 pm by Andisheh Nouraee in News

During Monday’s candidates debate, 10th Congressional District candidate Paul Broun accused his opponent, Jim Whitehead, of telling the Georgia Sport Shooting Association that he doesn’t own any guns. Broun also implied he has been endorsed by the GSSA.

Today, Jeff Emanuel at Peach Pundit noted that the GSSA lists Broun as its president.

Broun’s campaign manager Joshua Evans confirms that Broun has indeed secured the endorsement of the organization whose website lists him as its president. He says, however, that he believes Broun has stepped down from the position.

That this is a campaign issue at all is insane.

  1. Jeff Emanuel Says:

Dr. Broun should probably have his successor remove his name from the GSSA website to remove the appearance of impropriety. Not the best of moves from a gentleman who has the experience as a candidate to know better.

What he really needs to do is move on to a more important issue. There isn’t a snowball’s chance in hell that Georgia’s gun ownership laws will be restricted any time soon.

I said hell. Forgive me, Mr. Broun.

Why is Dr. Broun talking about guns? They aren’t in the Bible. I thought it said the Bible was what he’d look to when he made decisions.

BTW, I’m a bit concerned that my antispam code below is bj2dck. It looks like a dirty joke ;)

    Andi,
Please excuse Erick, he’s from central Georgia where they still use Samurai swords.

Is Dick Cheney a member of the GSSA? If so, did he get a medal when he shot that guy in the face while they were hunting while fucked-up drunk?
