April 17, 2007 at 10:51 am by Wayne GarciaWas busy working on a cover story for the April 25 edition of CL (yes, I do have other things to do than just blog my day away) and didn’t get to post anything about the Pulitzers being awarded yesterday afternoon.
P-Day was always the most depressing day of the year for me when I was an MSM reporter. Just a bitter reminder of another 12 months slipping by, toiling in anonymity. Sigh.
Tampa Bay got shut out this year; closest we came was Chris Goffard’s feature writing finalist finish for the St. Petersburg Times (he has since left the newspaper.) Statewide, the Orlando Sentinel’s Jane Healy was a finalist; Debbie Cenziper won for local reporting for the Miami Herald.
And for the ultra-insiders, Tampa Bay does have some stick on the Pulitzer board; Times editor and president Paul Tash is a member.
